スキー場に学校団体の生徒さんがやってきたとき、こんな仕事もあります。それはリフト降り場でのサポートの仕事です。指導にあたっている講師は、リフトに乗る前に、しっかりリフトの乗り方と降り方を教えています。私たちのスクールでは、降り場に近づいてきたら、ストック2本を横に持ち、膝に手をおいたままで待機して、足が着いたらおしりを少しあげて、おじぎをするように降りるように指導しています。でも、生徒さんとしては、初めて乗るリフトなので、乗っている間に興奮して、降り場まで来きたときには、教わっていた動きのことをうっかり忘れてしまって、戸惑って転んだりするのです。みんなバラバラの姿勢で降りてきます。サポートスタッフは、その転んだ生徒さんたちを拾って起こしてあげます。
One of the ski instructors’ jobs is ski lift supporting at the drop-off point. The ski school I belong to well-teach how to get of ski lifts. We teach like this. When kids come close to the drop-off point, they grab two poles horizontally and put their hands on their knees. As they finally reach the drop-off point, leave the ski lift as they keep kneeling position. Most of them have never learned how to ski. They get excited as they get on the first ski lift. By the time they reach the drop-off point, they have forgotten how to get off. They stand up in a different posture and fallen. Supporting staff members help to set their legs.
