私が所属した東北復興応援のボランティアグループには、たくさんの人が登録していて、本当に多くの方が実際に現地入りしました。グループ解散までの8年間、継続して、たびたび参加しました。ガテン系の仕事、マッサージの仕事、お茶の仕事の3部隊があり、好きな仕事に申し込みでき、行先もいくつか決まっていて、希望の行き先に参加できました。金曜日の夜出発から日曜の夜戻りまで、車中1泊、現地1泊でした。1箇所の行き先につき、数カ月おきに交互に、定期的に行くので、毎回参加すると、ボランティア同士で顔なじみになったり、現地の方にも顔を覚えていただき、それが励みにもなり、楽しみになりました。ボランティア同士の情報交換をしたり、おたがいの無事を確認し合ったり、夜の懇親会も、毎回楽しいものでした。
There were so many volunteer members in the Tohoku recovery support volunteer organization where I belonged. We had visited many different villages in turns and periodically within eight years until the organization was closed. There were three different roles we could choose from: physical labor work, massage work, and tea service work. We had departed on Friday night and returned on Sunday night, including one night in the bus and one night in a local village. As we went to the same place, again and again, we had made volunteer friends, and the local people had gotten to remember us. It was encouraging and fun to meet people. We exchanged information between volunteers, confirmed how we were doing, and we enjoyed parties at night. We enjoyed it so much.
