2011年3月11日、東北で大きな地震と津波がありました。とても心を痛めました。何か助けたいという気持ちでいっぱいでした。自分に何ができるのか、わからなかったのですが、まずは寄付という形から始めました。しばらくして、現地に行ってお買い物をしてお金を落として復興応援というものをテレビで見かけました。これならば自分でもできると思いました。そしてツアー会社に電話をかけました。すると、どこのツアー会社からも、とことん断られました。都内出発がだめなら現地発なら？と探しましたが、全部断られました。理由は、なんと、1名では受付していない、ということでした。バスは2名ずつの座席になっているため2名ずつでないと参加を受付ないというのです。こんなことで受け入れてもらえないとは、とても残念でした。それで、また何だったらできるのか？とネット検索しながら考え進みました。
On March 11th, 2011, the great earthquake and tsunami attacked the north region of Japan. It was heartbreaking. I wanted to do something but I didn’t know what to begin with. I started with donating a certain amount of money. After a while, when I was watching TV, I saw a shopping tour to the north planned by a travel company. This way I could drop some money there and I thought this is also one of the ways to support. I had contacted some travel companies to book. I was denied by all of them. I had checked tours departing from Tokyo as well as local tours even. None of them accepted me. Why? Travel companies did not want a single or an applicant of an odd number. It had to be an even number to apply. I gave up supporting by shopping tour. I stepped forward and continued searching for new ideas via the internet.
