2019年秋。千葉県南房総エリアで大きな台風被害がありました。台風後、比較的大きなボランティア団体でも活動させていただいたのですが、それとは別で、ビニールハウス解体のボランティアにも参加しました。建てたばかりの、まだ新しいビニールハウスが台風でやられてしまったのです。ビニールハウスのオーナーさんとしては、使える材料は残して、もう一度建て直したいということでしたので、私たちボランティア丁寧に解体しました。ビニールハウスは大きいサイズでした。私たちボランティアは、このビニールハウスを解体するのに、とても時間がかかりました。1日では終わらず、そのあとも別のボランティアが来て、ようやく解体完了したと後日知りました。解体作業は、素人の女性の私でもできました。仲間たちと力を合わせて作業でき、とても楽しく進めることができました。少しでもお力になれてよかったです。
In Autumn 2019, I was volunteering in two different volunteer groups after giant typhoons hit the South part of the Boso peninsula in Chiba.When I was helping in one of the groups, I helped to disassemble damaged plastic greenhouses. They were new, and I was very sorry for them. The owner wanted to disassemble all the parts. He could recycle them and build new ones. It took us so many hours as they were large plastic greenhouses. It didn’t finish in one day. Later I heard that more people came on a different day and finally completed disassembling. This work was good for female volunteers as well. I enjoyed working with other people as a team. I was glad I could be of help.
